Shannon McLaughlin

Proprietor/ Licensed Funeral Director

Shannon McLaughlin is a lifelong resident of the capital region. She has one son, Hunter, who is the pride and joy of her life. Prior to practicing as a funeral home owner, Shannon has worked as a registered nurse, flight attendant, and freelance makeup artist. After working in the nursing field and receiving both her Bachelor’s of Science and Associate of Applied Science degrees, Shannon has learned compassion and empathy for individuals, understanding the preceding events before the loss of a loved one. Shannon’s work as flight attendant and makeup artist has allowed her to travel the world and develop a keen sense of attention to detail.

Shannon first received her Associate of Applied Science degree in Mortuary Science from Hudson Valley in December of 1993 and has now accumulated over twenty-five years of experience as a licensed Funeral Director. She has decided to open the S.L. McLaughlin Funeral Home to share her talents with the capital district area. With a high regard for professionalism, compassion, and honesty, Shannon seeks to offer a premier service in funeral directing for all people regardless of culture or background.
