William A. Sutton Sr., lovingly known to family and friends as a pillar of strength and kindness, was born on Sunday, November 12, 1944, in Kinston, North Carolina, to the late Walter Sutton and Alberta Carmen. On Monday, December 2, 2024, William peacefully took his final rest with his daughter Shaniqua Jackson by his side, leaving a legacy of love, dedication, and resilience.

William’s journey through life was marked by his hardworking spirit and devotion to family. He spent his early years building a career that exemplified his commitment to providing for those he cherished. He worked diligently for Conrail Railroad in Beacon, NY, and Ford Motor Company in Mahwah, NJ, where he earned the respect and admiration of his colleagues. William also had a passion for cars and cherished his Lincoln Continental and his 1984 Chevy Camero.

William was a man of few words, soft-spoken and reflective in his manner, a true family man at heart, and his greatest pride and joy were his children and the generations that followed. He leaves behind a loving family that includes his surviving siblings, Robert Sutton of Greenville, NC, and Michelle Sutton of Newburgh, NY, loving daughter Shaniqua Jackson and her mother Teritha Comithier of Albany, NY, sons Marco and Daymon Sutton of Albany, NY, Harold Brown of Greensboro, NC and William Sutton Jr., of Beacon, NY. His legacy continues through his 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, as well as a host of nieces and nephews who will carry forward his memory and the values he instilled in them.

William will be remembered for his unwavering love, his warm laughter, and his ability to bring people together. His life was a testament to the strength of family bonds and the power of perseverance.

As we say goodbye to William, we celebrate a life well-lived and the indelible mark he leaves on all who knew him. His memory will forever remain in our hearts.
