Weter Mae McCann was born on March 9, 1945 in Hattiesburg Mississippi. She was the daughter of the late Ruben McCann, late Mittie Mae Denard McCann and step-daughter to the late Mary Jane Twillie McCann. She departed from her earthly home on September 24, 2021 to join her Heavenly Father and rest in his bosom.
Weter was a woman of strong Faith and often said that she had to be about doing the will of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ through finding lost souls and spreading the word of the gospel. She accepted Jesus into her life at an early age and promised him that she would serve him until she died.
She wore many coats of color and held many esteemed titles during her life journey. Ordained as a Minister under the leadership of Pastor Mary E. Wallace (Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church, Albany, NY), Minister McCann worked diligently for the Lord and held weekly Bible Study in her Senior Citizen Community Room. Whether or not anyone came she stayed and patiently waited to share God’s word.
Weter Mae married Willie Edward Carter (predeceased) early in life and is the proud, loving mother to seven children: Angela (Darryl) Lahon, Jacqueline Carter (Fitzroy), Stephanie (Jerome) Pryor, Marvin Carter (Tamesha), Willis Carter (Kimberly), Tanya (Reginald) Amihere and Lionel Carter.
Later in life Weter Mae married John Earl (Predeceased) with this union she became the nurturing Step-mother to Terry and Russell.

You would never be able to count the number of hours they spent on the phone, praying nor how many days they went to church, yet time was still found to go out to the nursing home, visiting the sick and shut in.
As a musically inclined, teacher of life, no matter the age young and old, Weter Mae McCann, would talk/sing and listen to you; planting seeds of faith, hope & kindness that harvested a lasting bountiful crop of love, compassion and patience which she spread near and far.
