Virginia “Gin” Farmer entered enternal life on Sunday, April 23, 2023.
Gin was born on May 30, 1943, in Caswell County, NC. She was baptized in 2002 at Praise Tabernacle Church, Delaware Ave., Albany, New York. She was predeceased by her mother Jennie Bett “Snookie” Farmer on (August 20, 2004) and her father Willie Jones on August 5, 2009.
Virginia is survived by her daughter Patricia A. “Precious” Farmer, her three children Shavasia M. Lanier, Precious S. Lanier and Casiem Maxwell. Her son, James A. “Farmer” his two children Shawavian Farmer and Ijaliek Farmer. Her daughter Stephanie J. “Lady” Farmer-Malorku, her three children Teosha Pearson, Kahdijah Johnson & Keahficshad Johnson (husband Paul Malorku, his sons Delasi, Elikam & Woedem Malorku). Gin is predeceased by her two sisters Helen Jones Fuller October 1, 2009 and Clarissa Jones January 9, 2018. She is survived by one brother Kenneth Jones and three sisters Dorothy Fields, Peggy Jones, and Joylette Jones. She leaves a host of Great Grandchildre, nieces’, nephews, cousins, and friends. Gin also leaves 4 special friends, Cynthia Carter, Edith Roland, Joan Mayo, and Sylvia Stinson.
Virgina’s education left off at Newburgh Free Academy in Newburgh, NY and picked up in Albany, NY at EOC Training Center where she received her GED. She started her career with the NYS Education Department in Albany, NY. She worked for State Ed for 27 years. She retired in July 1997 from the State. Gin went on to join the Jewish Community Center for several years. She lived in two Senior Living Communities (Ohav Sholom Apartments-115 Krumkill Rd & Park View Apartments-400 Hudson Ave). Shee also joined the Senior Day Program for several years.
Gin made many friends who loved and adored her. She loved Pokeno very Saturday evening with her fellow residence in her building. Gin was also involved with their Tuesday night Bingo games. She was loved by all who knew her. WE LOVE YOU MA!
