Tommy Lee Tubbs, born December 19, 1955, to the late Katherine Tubbs, was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 3, 2025.
Educated in the Meridian, Mississippi school system, Tommy developed a deep passion for cooking, helping others, and being an active and vibrant member of his community. His love for sports was infectious, and he found immense joy in surrounding himself with people, always ready to lend a helping hand.
At the age of 15, following the passing of his beloved mother, Tommy relocated to New Jersey and eventually settled in Albany, NY. Over the years, he worked diligently in various roles, including at Trinity Alliance, Albany Nursing Home, Social Services, and the Times Union in maintenance.
Tommy was preceded in death by his mother, Katherine Tubbs; his wife, Rhonda Tubbs; his brother, Gregory Tubbs; his grandfather, Rev. John Henry Tubbs; and his grandmother, Georgian Tubbs.
He leaves behind cherished memories with his siblings: Jimmy Ray Tubbs (Maria), Mary Thomas (James), Wanda Wilson (Rodney), Michael Lanier, Jerry Tubbs (Theresa), Pamela Blair (James), Beverly (Veronica) Ball, and Jimmy Ball. He will also be fondly remembered by his best friend, Patricia Humes, who played a significant role in his life, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
