Shirley A. Washington, 83 of Albany NY passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on July 18,2022. Shirley was born in Bartow , FL to the late Frank Harrington Jr. and late Ora Williams.She was raised in Arcadia Florida attending Smith-Brown High School where she graduated and was crowned Prom Queen.Shortly after, she moved north with her late husband Duria Washington and her children. She was a life-long resident of Albany NY who worked for the Red Cross during the 1970's until a work-related injury forced her into early retirement. She loved the Lord, family, friends Church, shopping, Bingo, animals, plants, cooking, & decorating among many other things. Shirley's zest,joy, care, passion and love for life and others held no limits. She dedicated her life to her family & friends, attending church, bringing cheer & helping others. She was a member of Mt. Olive Miss.Bap. Church and Union Miss. Bap. Church. She is survived by her eldest brother Harry B. Shuman,Ven,FL; her youngest brother Wendell Williams, Riverside CA; her children Angela Jacobs, Cha,NC; Fred Wash.,Alb, NY; Tammy M. Washington,NJ; Darrell Washington,Col.,NY, her grandchildren Trevon Johnson Alb.,NY Malik Jackson Alb.,NY; Adarius Jackson,Cha,NC; Duria Washington Col.,NY; Xavier Washington Col.,NY Zora Washington Col., NY; her great- grandchildren Nashon McLaughlin Alb.,NY; Mahijanae Johnson Alb.,NY; Trevon Johnson Jr.,Alb.,NY; Queen Johnson Alb.,NY; Nefatari Johnson Alb.,NY; Dakari Johnson Alb.,NY; Jacquorian Johnson Alb. Funeral Services will be held on Friday August 5th, 2022 at 3 Morton Ave Alb. NY at the Union Miss Bap Church at 12noon with visitation starting at 11am. Shirley possessed a beautiful radiant loving soul and spirit that shined from inside out!!! She will be missed dearly by a host of family & friends.
