Shannon L. Woods (Slammin Shan) passed away July 26, 2022 surrounded by his loving family by his side. Born in Albany, on October 8,1971. He’s the son of Nancy and the late Joseph E Woods Sr. He graduated from Albany High School in 1989 and went on to attend Siena College where he graduated in 1993. He worked for the Dept. of Taxation & Finance for over 20 years as a Computer Forensic Investigator.  Music was Shannon’s passion, he enjoys old school hip-hop, R&B, and Rap. In the early 90s he was a beloved DJ on 88.3 FM WVCR.  He is survived by his loving wife Sherine Morgan-Woods and four children Arielle, Christopher, Samantha (Chris) and Andre, and one granddaughter Destiny Shannon; His siblings LaShana (Derome), Navree (Garrett), Joseph Jr. (JoJo) and a host of other relatives. A memorial service will be held on 8/13/22 at 11:00 a.m at Church of God of Prophecy 774 Madison Ave Albany NY. A celebration of his life will follow after the service at the Albany Lodge #49, 25 South Allen St Albany NY.​
