On January 16th, 2021 at 4:30 am an Angel was sent to Sarah Lee
Trotter at Hudson Park Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Albany, N.Y. to
escorted her into paradise.
Sarah Lee Franklin Trotter was born May 2 nd , 1937 at Memorial
Hospital in Albany, New York to the late Samuel and Luella Franklin. She
grew up on Rapp Rd., in Albany, New York, and was educated in the
Albany school system.
In January 1959 Sarah Lee was married to Elder Leo Trotter. To this
union 4 children were born. Leona Denise, Steven Gregory, Leo Milton,
and Sharon Le’vonne.
Sarah worked as a Teacher’s Assistance for Giffen School Annex,
and the summer class program at SUNY Albany for preschoolers. She
also, worked as a secretary for the Mental Health Association, and
volunteered at the Louise Corning Senior Center and the Westview Senior
Center. Until her health started to fail.
Sarah was a faithful member of the St. John’s C.O.G.I.C. located in
Albany, where she taught Sunday School; YPWW; and Sunshine Band
along the side of Mother Alice Harman. Sarah was a lead singer in the
choir as well as a director. She participated in the radio and TV ministry of
St. John’s. She was an avid writer of poems and would be asked to quote
her poems wherever she went. Sarah also, loved to play the piano and
sing. She later moved her membership to Wilborn Temple where she
continue to do what she loved and live for the Lord until she could no
longer attend services.
Sarah has written two books of poetry that were publish by her son.
Before her passing Sarah could be seen traveling the hallways of the
nursing home in her wheelchair. Going from floor to floor. Singing, and
writing her poems for the facilities monthly paper, playing bingo, coloring
pictures, and doing her puzzle books.
Sarah would write down the names of everyone who came to see her
and that had sent her something. Then she would tell her family guess
who sent me this and who came by to see me. This gave her great joy!
 
Mom Sarah leaves to cherish her memory, her husband Leo Trotter,
daughters Leona Bellamy and Sharon Trotter and son Leo Trotter, all of
Albany. One sister Elsie Norman of Brooklyn.
Grand children Russell, Jr. of Rutland, VT, Lorraine, Randall,
Leshelle Bellamy. Shontel Trotter, Riniqua Chavers, Rashawn Trotter, and
Latavia Trotter. Her special granddaughter and hair dresser Shera Boyd
all of Albany.
She also, leaves her great grandchildren, Anyah, Lalani, of Rutland
VT. Randall, Jr. Rhys, Latryce, Roman Bellamy. Jahmye, and Sahmya
Trotter. Her special great grandchildren Nekhi, Yvonne, Nevaeh, Kyla, and
Samone Boyd all of Albany.
Her very special Goddaughter Tammy Thomas.
She was preceded in death by her parents Luella & Samuel Franklin.
Son Steven G. Trotter and son-law Russell A. Bellamy, Sr. Four brothers
William, John Clarence, Robert James, and Louis Franklin. Four sisters
Dolly Mae Franklin, Louise Amy Rosario, Naomi Torres, Alma Lee Leis.
Sarah will be greatly missed by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins,
and numerous relatives, and many, many friends.
