Deacon Sam "Jake" Hemingway was born to the late Ella Hemingway (Mother) and the late Sydney Bachus (father) on March 22, 1945 in Marion, South Carolina. Sam eventually relocated to Albany, NY where he resided for many years. He spent many years working in Construction, driving Taxi, dump truck driving, and a few other jobs. Sam loved to drive and work on his work car. He also loved to fish. On August 22, 2021, Sam Hemingway gave his life to the lord and joined the fellowship of the Lord's House of Deliverance Baptist Church where he served Faithfully as a Deacon under the Leadership of Pastor Kimberly C. Hall. Sam Hemingway was a prayer warrior. He loved to pray for his Family and Friends. He will truly be missed by his family, church family, and friends.
Sam 'Jake' Hemingway departed this life on Wednesday, December 25, 2024.He was preceded in death by his mother Ella Hemingway, his Father Sydney Bachus, his sister Betty Moody, his daughter Linda Hemingway, and his Grandchild Ahsid Hemingway-Powell.
He leaves to cherish his memory: His daughter Jackie Powell (sweet p) of Albany, NY, Tabatha Hemingway-Hyde (Tony) of Syracuse, NY, Lisa Murdock of Halfmoon, NY, Jason Hemingway (karlotta) of Ravena, NY, Brandon Hemingway of Albany, NY, Daniel Hemingway of Albany, NY. His Sister's Edith Johnson of Albany, NY, Linda Crawford of Latta, South Carolina, his brother Arthur "Pete" Hemingway (Doris) of Troy, Ny, 15 Grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and a host of Family, nephews, nieces, cousins, and special close friends.
