Salaheddine Carter

Salaheddine A. Carter who was lovingly and affectionately called “Dean” was born on December 9, 1976 in Potsdam, New York. He claimed his wings on Monday, March 30, 2026 at Samaritan Hospital in Troy, New York. He was the son of Roger L. Carter and Oloerua B. Makuch (Dozier). 

Dean was a graduate at the Center for the Disabled in Albany, New York. Heenjoyed family, fishing, traveling, and the outdoors. 

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents: Arthur and Audrey Carter; paternal grandparents: Robert McLaughlin and Marie Cady (Dozier); uncles: Alfred Dozier, William Dozier, John Wilson, Ronnie Carter, Philip Crowson Sr., and Roscoe Williamson; aunt: Verenette Wilson; great uncles: BeLove Cook, Luther Dozier, Elbert Dozier, J.T. Cook, Clarkie Everett, Willie Longmire; great aunts: Margie Longmire, Louise Everett, Elise Young, Ida Banks, and Yvonne Cook; cousins: Shree Dozier, Nasheema Dozier, Philip Crowson Jr., and David Young. 

In addition to his parents, others who will cherish his sweet memories include a stepfather: Thomas Makuch of Albany, NY; brothers:  Rodger Carter II of Albany, NY and Kishmere Carter of Salt Lake, UT; sister: Yoshida Carter of Albany, NY; uncles: Betrand Carter Sr. and George Carter, both  of Albany, NY, Benny Fred of Mississippi, Herman McLaughlin of Detroit, MI; aunt: Susie Wimberly (Cady), Cynthia Carter, Valeber (Ruth) Crowson all of Albany, NY; Gaydell Young of Manhattan, NY; Rose Hurst of Detroit, MI; a great aunt:  Mae Alice Davis; a special cousin: Shundell Ford; and a host of cousins, relatives and friends too numerous to name.
