Roy Williams Obituary

Roy Williams, 42, of Albany, New York, passed away on April 25, 2026. Born on October 11th, 1983, in Albany, Roy was a man who lived his life fully and with deep purpose, always putting his family at the center of everything he did.

If you knew Roy, you knew he could make you laugh. It didn't matter if you were having the worst day of your life, he had a way of finding your smile regardless. His humor was one of his greatest gifts, and he shared it generously with everyone around him. But beyond the jokes and the laughter, Roy was a man of extraordinary dedication and skill. There wasn't a problem you could put in front of him that he wouldn't find a solution for. Whether it was fixing something around the house, building a project from scratch, or transforming a yard into something beautiful through his excellent landscaping work, Roy took pride in everything he touched.

Roy was the kind of man who couldn't sit still. He helped start the family commercial cleaning business, which is still thriving 12 years later, and his devotion to providing for his family was limitless. He would always say, "If my family is good, then I am good," and he stopped at nothing to make sure of it. He loved to teach others the skills he had mastered, passing down his knowledge with patience and generosity.

Family gatherings were Roy's specialty. He loved hosting cookouts, birthday parties, and Christmas celebrations, always making sure everyone had what they needed. He often said he got that gift from watching his grandparents host their card parties growing up. Above all, Roy was a devoted father who wanted nothing but the best for his children.

Roy's faith in God was the foundation of his life, guiding his steps and grounding his spirit in all things.

He is survived by his mother Tracy Williams (Maliek), his brother’s Mandella Williams, Ali Williams, step-sister Katrina Brice, Cumy Williams (predeceased), Marcus Williams (predeceased), his loving wife, Aisha Williams; his cherished daughter's, Qumiyah Williams, Kaliyah Williams, and his son, Eric Norwood; along with many other family members and friends who will carry his memory forward.

Services will be held at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, 441 Washington Ave, Albany, NY 12206. Viewing begins at 10:00 a.m. with services starting at 11:00 a.m.

As Scripture reminds us in 2 Timothy 4:7, "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." Roy fought his fight well, and his legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering devotion will endure in the hearts of all who knew him.
