Robinson “Robby” Rosa was born on August 11, 1961, in Puerto Rico and at 12 years old relocated to North Carolina.
Robby completed his education in the North Carolina School District. Robby moved to Albany, NY in the 1980s where he met his soul mate Donna Williams. Robby was employed at St. Peters Hospital for over 30 years until he retired.
Robby always had a love of dancing and music. Before moving to Albany, Robby would DJ parties. He also entered and won many Latin dance contests. After moving to Albany, Robby continued to DJ at various nightclubs in the Capital District, collecting hundreds of records and CDs of all types of genres and eras. Robby was the center of attention for any party/event he would attend, dressed to the nine from head to toe. And if he was really feeling the music he would dance and throw his hat across the floor, just like a Michael Jackson video. He loved cheering for his teams, the NY Giants, and the NY Yankees whether it was in-person or watching the games on his 80-inch television. If you did not like his team, he would definitely talk smack to you. Although he was a hard worker, he loved being home relaxing.
Robby was a loving husband for over 20 years not to mention the 15 plus years of dating prior to that and he always took care of Donna until the end. He loved his son Robby whom he lovingly called Junior or “Boop” as well as his only grandchild Grayson. He also enjoyed spending time with his family at cookouts and family gatherings. Robby would often bring the most delicious Spanish rice dishes. We won’t forget to mention how much Robby loved his cats, Robo, Spyro, Brandy and Mimi. Robby recently joined the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church family and loved the bonds he built in such a short amount of time. Robby was grateful to Mount Pleasant. No matter how Robby was feeling or what he was going through he always kept a positive attitude and a big smile. Robby will be missed by all.
Robby was predeceased by his beloved wife Donna Lynn Rosa, his mother Esther Carrasquillo-Hottenstein, his bonus dad Charles Carrasquillo, and his biological father Justino Rosa.
Robby leaves to cherish her loving memory his son, Robinson (Allison) Rosa, Jr., his grandson Grayson Rosa, his sisters Polonia (Billy) Rosa-Adams-Carrasquillo, Susana Castro-Carrasquillo and Walkira (Jayson) Franco-Flores-Carrasquillo, his brothers Edwin Laurino, and Charles (Tina) Hottenstein. Robby also leaves to cherish his memory his in-laws, cousins, and a host of nieces and nephews.
