Philizeta Bredwood Obituary
Philizeta Bredwood, sunrise December 28, 1932, sunset July 31, 2024, age 91. Born in Islington, St Mary’s, Jamaica. From Jamaica she immigrated to London, England and then to Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. She lived the majority of her life in Albany NY, USA, surrounded by her family.
Philizeta was a true jack of all trades. She excelled as a nurse’s aide, hairdresser, seamstress, gardener and cook. Her love language was cooking and feeding her family and friends. All her recipes were in her head and made many dishes from her home country. She seemed to be able to have anything she planted grow and bear fruit. She was also known to be her own contractor around the house painting, wallpapering, plumbing and even being her own mason.
She is pre- deceased by her mother; Ethlyn, father; Edward, brother Roman, Leeford and Jeremiah. She is survived by her brother, Henry, children Delroy, Basil (Angela), Dave, Jacqueline (Richard), and Jenifer. Grandchildren: Humphrey, Shelly Ann, Marlon, Nadra, Leroy, Veronica, Denzel, and Jared. Multiple great grandchildren
Services will be held at Macedonia Baptist Church on August 17, 2024. Viewing from 9 am to 10am. Funeral services begin at 10 am. Internment will be at Graceland Cemetery.
