Owen Chin

Owen Chin, 74 of Albany, New York; 

known as 

“Governor” departed this life on 

December 6, 2023

at St. Peter’s Hospital, after a brief 

illness.

He was born to the late George Chin 

and Elise Johnson

of St. Andrews Parish, Jamaica.

Owen, affectionally known as “Bull” to his children

left his  homeland of Jamaica in 2001 and made

Albany, New York his home in 2003. 

Where he 

met and married Donna Sheffield. 

His journey leaves to cherish his

 memory, His wife Donna;

One son, Four daughters, Three 

stepchildren, Two sons-in-law,

Thirteen grandchildren, Fifteen 

step-grandchildren 

and one great grandchild. He also 

leaves Four brothers; 

Three sisters, Five brothers-in -law 

and Two sisters-in -law

and a host of Nephews, Nieces, 

Cousins and Friends.

Owen was predeceased in death by 

his parents, a stepson and one

step grandchild.
