Ollie Leggett Obituary

On June 23, 2022, the Lord in his infinite wisdom called home from labor to reward Ollie Mae Leggett.  Ollie Mae was born on September 22, 1938 in Shubuta, MS to the Late Leonard and Willie Lee Thomas.

Ollie Mae worked at Albany Medical Center Hospital as a dietician until retirement. Ollie Mae loved her family and friends, she also loved to go the Casino and Bingo. She made everyone she met smile, she was known as “mom” to her Green Street neighbors but to her they were all like family. One of her daughter’s favorite thing is whenever they would say “Mom you ready?” She was always ready!!

Ollie Mae was preceded by her parents Late Leonard and Willie Lee Thomas, her sister Sarah Satcher, her brothers Mac and Lawrence Thomas and John Wesley and one son in-law O.V. Terrell.  She leaves to cherish in memory her four children: Charlotte (Bobby) Jones of Heidelberg MS, Willis (Sharon) Linda Leggett-Terell and Shirley Leggett of Albany NY, and long-life partner William Thomas. Her grandchildren Derek, Tiwana, Jazz, Deauntta, Deandre, Tanisha, Shakia, Jeff, Cherelle, Chavi. Ten and a half great grands (one in the oven), and one great-great grandchild and a host of nieces and nephews. One special cousin Aaron Heidelberg.
