Mrs. Minnie Foulks Jones was born on December 13, 1930 in Van Vleet, Mississippi to proud parents Will and Janet Townsend Foulks. She grew up and was educated from elementary through High School in Okolona, Mississippi. She matriculated at Okolona College for two years. She married Elmer Lee Jones of Shannon, Mississippi and from that union two children were born. They moved to Albany, New York in 1952.
Her work experience includes Albany Medical Center Hospital. From there she went to the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles until she retired in 1993. She was a member of Metropolitan New Testament Mission Baptist Church, Albany, New York and a member of I.B.P.O. Elks of the World.
Minnie departed this life on Friday February 14, 2020 peacefully at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany, New York. She was predeceased in death by her parents Will and Janet Foulks. She was predeceased by her husband Elmer Lee Jones. She leaves to cherish her memory: two beloved children Darryl (Cindy) Jones and Craig Jones. She was predeceased by her siblings: Bonnie Lee Foulks, Norma Jean Folks Tucker, Charles Edward Foulks, John Willis Foulks, Robert Lee Foulks. She leaves to cherish her memory: siblings Bettie Eunice Foulks Scott, Minnie B. Foulks Askew and James Franklin Foulks. Her loving godson; Kimonte York along with a host of nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed.
