Mrs. Mazerine Jackson Smith entered this life on July 18, 1935 to the parentage of Jay Jackson and John Choice Nettles and Lucille Nettles Lamar, and departed for the heavenly home on Friday, May 15, 2026 in Monroeville, Alabama.
Mazerine was a baptized member of the Bright Morning Missional Baptist Church, Frisco City, Alabama. She received her early education in Frisco City, Alabama and was a member of the Class of 1953 of the Bethlehem #2 Industrial Academy (BIA). After completing high school, like so many in the area searching for jobs, she moved to Albany, New York with relatives in 1953.
Mazerine found employment at the Albany Medical Center and worked there for sixty five years. She found a church home and united with the Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church where she was a faithful member until her health began to decline and she returned to her birth home in July 2022.
Mazerine met and was united in marriage to Ralph "Rocky" Smith on June 16, 1966. Although, they did not have any biological children they served as "Bonus Parents" to their many nieces and nephews
Mazerine, we wish you a peaceful journey home. Until we meet again, Farewell our dear sister, aunt, cousin and friend.
