THE LEGACY OF MARANDY CAROLINE MALLORY
“Unto thee, O Lord, do I lift up my soul” Psalm 25:1 KJV
Marandy Caroline Mallory was born in Albany, New York on September 24, 1956, to the late Benny Deyo and Mary L. Hough. After several cumbersome stays at St. Peter’s Hospital, she gained her wings at home on a beautiful day with family, as angels ushered her on to Glory to be with the Lord. She endured much pain, but her will to live ended on Wednesday, March 20, 2024. She will be remembered as a quiet, private person that loved and adored her only daughter, Ailsherk Fantroy , granddaughter, Azayvia Rivera; her extended family and close friends.
Marandy spent her entire life in Albany. She was educated in the Albany School system and received her GED at Philip Schuyler High School, Albany, NY.
In her younger years, she was employed at Albany Medical Center working in their satellite kitchen. She worked as a custodian for the Rayben Industrial Cleaning Service owned by family member, Mr. Benny Mackey. Still wanting to give back to the community, she worked at the Trinity South-end Pantry and the uptown Arbor Hill Pantry as an intake receptionist before her illnesses. She enjoyed her job, it was her passion and she was loved by all that came in contact with her.
Marandy was predeceased by her parents Benny Deyo and Mary L. Hough; late husband Douglas Mallory; brother James Daniel Martin and sister Mary Bertha Keyes.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her only beloved daughter Ailsherk Fantroy and the love of her life, granddaughter Azayvia Rivera; two brothers John E. (Marchell) Hough; Greg L. (Joanne) Keyes; six nieces: Shontaya , Adaisha, Tierra, Armenta, Aleeya Keyes and Stacie Miller ; four nephews: Jahshere Chapple, Samquise and Nahzir Adams and AnJui Keyes; goddaughter DaShaya Smythe and her long time Best Friend of 50 years Ms. Vivian Smythe; a host of other relatives and friends.
