Linda Alexander Obituary

Linda Denise Alexander - A dedicated mother of 2, grandmother of 3 and a loved one of many; suddenly passed away after a courageous health battle on May 24th, 2023 at the blessed age of 70, in Albany, NY.

Born June 15th, 1952 in Cook County Hospital in Chicago, Illinois to the late Fred and Frankie Lee Jordon.

Linda relocated with her family to Albany, NY. Enrolling  in the Albany public school district  (Livingston JR High school), excelling then graduating from Philip Schuyler High School. After graduating High school, young Linda moved into the YWCA apartments where she would gain her independence. Here she would start classes in Judo, and   through practice and dedication, advance to receiving her brown belt. Having obtained her Nursing Assistant Certification through EOC, she moved and lived in Atlanta, GA. for over a decade. Subsequently, Linda relocated back to Albany, NY and worked in Environmental Services for Albany Memorial Hospital, transferred to  St. Peters Hospital then ultimately retiring as Certified Nurses Technician. As a cheerful and helpful person, Linda loved putting a smile on people's faces and helping them from all walks of life.

Linda was full of joy and laughter and knew no strangers. Her hugs were full of comfort and memorable. She loved spending time with her family, listening to music, dancing, watching movies and singing karaoke, especially her "oldies but goodies".   

Linda’s favorite things to do were watching horror and science fiction movies, her favorite TV series, playing her games on her new electronics, drinking her cup of coffee with cream and sugar.

She adored her children and grandchildren and loved spoiling them. She was a fan of furry things, fluffy dogs and adorable cats. Her green thumb nurtured beautiful plants that spoke volumes about her dedication, reflecting her loving and caring soft side.  Everyone Linda encountered, encountered a laugh. Her  humorous and funny attributes made her unforgettable.  Linda was also notorious for her no-nonsense personality, thanks to  her upbringing in the Southside of Chicago, always being true to herself. She was the epitome of honesty, respect, and integrity.

Linda was deeply loved and leaves to cherish her memory  her two daughters Monifa N. D. Johnson and Christie S. Alexander,  three grandchildren Cheonne D. Brace, Calugerō D. D. Blenman and Alana C. Blenman , of Albany, NY. Siblings Deborah Warfield of Chicago, IL;  brothers Fred Jordan (Shirley), Albert Ross Jordan (Barbara), of Albany, NY; her aunts Minnie Walley of Ft. Lauderdale, uncle James Alexander (Jean), her “greatgrand-pets”, Draykō & Callie and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded by her parents Fred Jordan, Frankie Lee Alexander-Jordan, sisters Dorsine Inniss, Nettie Mae Jordan, aunts Dessie Mae Clark-Hughes, Luella Alexander-Price, uncles Sunlight (S.L) Alexander, Henry Alexander from Chicago, IL,  Raphael Alexander of Albany, NY,  nephew Jermaine “Jakim” Wilson and niece Nicola Warfield.

Linda loved her family dearly. Her children and grandchildren were the light of her life. She was an amazing mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. She touched the lives of so many people and was loved by so many. She will truly be missed and will never, ever, be forgotten.
