Larry Darnell (Spotlight) Cunningham was born on February 8, 1960, to Roosevelt Kitchen and Ethel Mae (Thomas) Cunningham in Shubuta, MS.
He was educated in the Quitman City School District. Upon graduating from high school, he later relocated to Albany, NY, joining his aunts and uncles.
He began his employment at St. Peters Hospital on September 8, 1991 and worked there for over 31 years until his passing on October 24, 2022. He earned the name Spotlight because wherever he showed up at, he was the life of the party.
He enjoyed life and lived life on his own terms. He was loved and will be missed by all who knew him, including his coworkers at St. Peters Hospital.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his mother, Ethel Mae (Thomas) Cunningham; his father, Roosevelt Kitchen; and his sister, Jackie Cunningham, all in MS. He also leaves one daughter, Kenesha Lancaster of Waynesboro, MS and one son, Mykelti D. Cunningham of Florida; one granddaughter, My'zaira E. Cunningham. He was very close to his Uncles Fred Thomas, Jr., Joe Lee Thomas and 1st cousin Willie James Thomas, all of Albany and Troy, NY and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and loved ones.
