Lacy Matthew Thompson, Jr. (Shuntel) Born May 10, 1952, in Burlington NC the son of the late Lacy Matthew Thompson, Sr and the late Mamie Thompson. He was called to eternal rest on November 6, 2025, in Delmar NY.
Shuntel attended Philip Schuyler High School where he was very active on the basketball team. He received an Associate Degree from Elmira College, He enjoyed shooting pool and was quite a strategist when playing chess. After working as a cook for over ten years at Price Chopper, he retired due to his health.
Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Laci Patrica Thompson, his son Ivon Shuntel Thompson, two sisters, Deborah L. McGee (Richard) and Katherine McCrary (Derek), three grandsons, Mikai, Noah and Ivon Shuntel, Jr., one sweet great-granddaughter, Mionna. Survivors also include eight nieces, two nephews and many more family and friends. In addition to his parents, Shuntel was preceded in death by his wife, Patrica Thompson, his sister, Iris B. Brown (Abner) and grand-nephew, Edward B. Brown III.
Shuntel’s niece, Larri Kittell and grand-niece, Lyniesha Robinson lovingingly provided healthcare for him during his disability.
