Johnnie Hardy Obituary

Johnnie Mae Hardy was granted her angel wings on September 3rd, 2022, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends.

Johnnie Mae was born on October 6th, 1936, in Kingstree South Carolina, to the late Mary Margaret Ryan. Johnnie Mae was educated in the Williamsburg County and Albany City School districts. She was a dedicated employee at the Stratton Veterans Administration Medical Center where she retired after over 30 years of service.

Johnnie Mae was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She doted on her family and was happiest when her large brood surrounded her. She loved reading, playing bingo, cooking, drawing, and golf; but the thing she loved more than anything was spending time with her grand and great grandchildren.

Johnnie is survived by her children: Marion Thomas, Kevin Thomas, Roslyn Thomas-Daniels (Jonathan), and Valeria Thomas. Grandchildren: Kenya Thomas (Darrell), Nairobi Vives (Andres) Nyeesha Thompson (Kashiff), Terry “Naijee” Koonce Jr., Anyee Alexander, Aleeah Stokes, Uniquea Thomas, Janique Addison, and Jaquell Addison. Great grandchildren: Zahkee, Naijee, Armani, Rhyleigh, Alani, Kaleb, Akai, Aiden, Nina, and Carter. Siblings: Frankie Mae Nelson and William Henry Wilson.

She will be deeply missed by family, friends, and all her knew her well.
