In Loving Memory of a Cherished Matriarch
Jerelene Dees, born January 26, 1940, in Camden, Alabama, entered eternal rest on July 19, 2025. She was the beloved second youngest child of Solomon and Authorine Dees Sr., a devoted sister to Pastor Elder Solomon Dees Jr. and nine other siblings, and a pillar of strength and wisdom within the Dees/Holloway family.
Jerelene leaves to cherish her brother Solomon Dees Jr. and brother in-law William Robinson. Her legacy of love continues through her children, Dennis Brooks and Deronda Daniels; her cherished grandson, Mitchell Daniels; and her great-grandson Julian Daniels. She was also a special Godmother and second Mom to Joshua Berrien, and God mother to Larry Dees and David Robinson. She extended her nurturing heart to all who were blessed to know her including her special grandchildren Nyemah Berrien, Kyrie Berrien, and Genesis Cossou who also carry forward her memory. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, first and second cousins, as well as many friends who will cherish her memory.
Jerelene was predeceased by her siblings—Robert, Turner Sr., Paul, Willie James, Sarah, David, George, Tillie, and Ruth—and her sisters-in-law Nora Lee Dees and Iola Dees.
