The Lord called another one of his Faithful Servant’s home, Jeannie M. Green-Alexander of Albany, NY on March 1, 2023. Jeannie was born January 16,1943, in Macon, Georgia to the late Willie A. and Rosa L. Cofer. She is predeceased by her sister Louella Cofer and two aunts Pauline Curry and Mary Wilbur.
Jeannie was a long-time member of Welcome Chapel Missionary Baptist Church where she was affectionately known as “Mother” Alexander. She served her church in the various capacities, as vice-president of the Missionary Ministry and as the Pastors’ Aide president for many years. She continued to faithfully serve in the Missionary Ministry as well as in Shepherds’ Ministry until her passing.
Early in life, Jeannie married her first love, Arthur W. Green. Out of this union of marriage yielded two sons, Arthur W. Green Jr. of Albany, NY and Sylvester (Sylvia) Green of Chula Vista, California. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Lakime (Joyce) Meadows of Albany, NY, Kishandee and Keenon Green of California. Two Great-grandchildren, Maya and Myles Meadows of Albany, NY. One aunt Sally Wilburn of Albany, NY. Two sisters Olivia (John) Chapple of Millville, NJ and Margaret Callins of Albany, NY.
She was aunt to Walter L. Hamilton, Tammie King, Tinnia (Fred)Gandy-Mays, Torrie (Aaron) Chapple-Chapman, Stephen (Janel)Chapple, Joseph Chapple, Etoyi and Delwyne Booker all of Albany, NY. Jeannie was Godmother to Tonni Chapple of Albany, NY, Jeremey Young of North Carolina and God Sister to Janine McKnight of Albany, NY. Special friends Mildred Clark of Georgia, Iselene Sanders, Monwella Tolliver, Berdia Pulliam and Marcus Buchanan all of Albany, NY. Extended family, cousins and her church family.
