James Owens Obituary

On Tuesday, October 9, 2018, James “Timmy” Owens, peacefully passed away at the age of 59 after a long struggle with pancreatic cancer. Timmy was born on March 27, 1959 in Hartford, CT. He was the son of the late Thornton and Louise (Holmes) Owens and the husband of Pamela Owens (predeceased).

Timmy was most proud of turning his life around and living 30 years clean and sober. When he left his hometown of Waterbury, Connecticut and moved to Albany, New York to start a new life he met and fell in love with his soulmate, Pam. With her by his side, he built a new life. He created strong, lifelong friendships through the AA community. This dedicated community became his family. He was devoted to his “new” family of friends and did whatever he could to help others who were going through the same struggles he had gone through. Although he physically moved away from his family and friends back in Waterbury, he always kept them in his kind and generous heart. One of his greatest joys was to reminisce about his days in Waterbury.

He is survived by two sisters Leann Davies and Robin Owens; one niece, Brittney Kendall and two nephews; Rashad Kendall and Isaiah Davies; one great niece, Khaleya, and three great nephews; Kamren, Avion, and Alston; a host of cousins; his mother-in-law, and several other loving in-law family members.
