Ismael was born on March 26, 1963 in Panama City, Panama and passed away on Friday, January 29, 2021. He
is the son of the late Oscar Luis Maxwell and Isabel Machado Maxwell. He is survived by 5 children, Ismael
Emanuel Maxwell Jr., Isabel Mozelle Maxwell, Alexander Harold Maxwell, Ava Maritza Maxwell and Isaiah
Emanuel Maxwell, 3 grandchildren, 8 siblings (+2 deceased) and a large number of nephews and nieces.
Ismael worked as a police officer in Panama when it was known as a defense force. In response to God’s
calling, he decided to become a missionary of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in the Republic of Panama.
He was a missionary in several Central American countries and from there he went to the United States of
America where he lived in Albany, New York.
He graduated from the SUNY Culinary Training Program on
February 8,1994 and the Queststar Licensed Practical Nursing Program on July 6, 1999. As a Licensed
Practical Nurse, he worked at Hudson Park Nursing Homes and The Grand at Barnwell Nursing Homes.
Ismael was the life of the party to his family, friends and co-workers because of his love, funny jokes, gift of
healing, ability to work and his tireless dynamism.
Although he had plans to travel to Panama and reunite with all his brothers and family in Panama, his memories
and affection will accompany us until we see him again rising victorious from death to embrace him when
Christ returns and takes us to a world where there will be no more weeping, death, or pain, where we will never
ever part with our loved ones that we have lost. God allowed his death to free him from evil and pain, but he
will not forget him by leaving him in the grave forever. The sadness and emptiness that we feel from the loss of
Ismael is only a short time, because we embrace the promise of eternal life of those who gave their life to Jesus:
"For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout of command, with the voice of the archangel, and
with the trumpet of God; and the dead in Christ will rise first" (1 Thessalonians 4:16).
