Herman Nelson

Herman Nelson of Troy, NY passed away suddenly at the age of 85 on September 12, 2024 at the Eddy Heritage House Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Troy NY. 

Herman was born on November 15, 1938 in Winter Garden,Florida to the late LeRoy and Martha Nelson. At an early age he accepted Christ in his life and was baptized at the Bethel Baptist Church in Winter Garden, Florida. Herman attended the public school system  in Winter Garden Florida. In 1957 Herman journeyed to Schenectady, NY where he continued his education within the Schenectady School system.  Herman was later employed at Keeler Roofing Company for many years until he retired. He was a member of Metropolitan baptist Church of Albany, New York. Herman had a love of fishing, listening to music.

Drinking his moonshine with friends and watching  his favorite baseball team, the New York Yankees.  He also enjoy  playing baseball with the Panthers club, and going on trips to Atlantic City with them as well. 

Herman leaves to cherish his memories. 3 special friends Robert Dixon, James Petteway and Timmy Sankey. A ever special nephew Anthony Nelson an extra special niece, Sheena Keels, along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends. 

Herman was preceded in death by two Brothers, Leroy Nelson and Terry Nelson

Four sisters, Sarah Doris Moore, Catherine (Lady)Nelson, Lavoughn Payton and Linda Armstrong.
