Helen Heron Obituary
Helen Heron, age 92, of New York City via Evergreen Commons Nursing Home, passed
away on September 20, 2021, after a long battle with dementia and Alzheimer’s.
Helen, born on December 30, 1928, to Sylvannah Jane (Collins)Dobson and Harry
Dobson in Spartanburg S.C.. Helen enjoyed pastimes such as reading and basketball
from her early age through her teenage years. After graduating from high school Helen
married Frank Feaster and moved to New York City. Together they had three children:
Janice, Frank, and Kay. She later married Timothy Heron with whom they had a son
Larry (predeceased). Helen retired after a long and productive career working for the
Department of Social Services of New York City.
An active member of Convent Ave Baptist church she was a proud member of the Red
Hat Society. Enjoyed crosswords puzzles, pinochle, soap operas, old westerns, and visits
from friends and family.
Helen was predeceased by her parents, siblings Felix, Harry, and Polly. Her beloved son
Larry and grandsons Derrick and John- John. She is survived by her children, Janice,
Frank, and Kay. Her grandchildren, Francis (Mike) Wanda, Monique, Andrena,
Monica, Larry Jr., and Tamia (Malcolm) Her great-grandchildren, Samantha, Michael
(Amber), Von, Ariel, Isaiah, Talia, Kriston, Jordan, Josh, Breeyah, Bryce, and Krystina,
and a host of great-great-grandchildren.
