Heather Marie McGough-Jackson entered eternal rest unexpectedly on September 22, 2025. Her passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know her, but Heather’s spirit, marked by warmth, strength, and delightful humor, will forever remain a guiding light.
Born in Schenectady, NY, to Barbara Clowe-McGough and Charles McGough, Heather was educated in the Schenectady city schools district. Heather built a life defined by nurturing others, first at the Refreshing Springs Child Day Care Center, where she brought her sweet and attentive nature to the youngest among us, and then for the past 16 years as a home health caregiver. In every professional role, she was a true embodiment of care, earning a reputation for being both gentle with her patients and children and refreshingly "no nonsense."
To know Heather was to love her. She had a rare gift for making everyone she met feel instantly seen, loved, and like a friend she had known forever. Heather’s home was the heart of her; always welcoming and safe, filled with the aromas of her incredible cooking. It was the gathering place for countless joyful hours and laughter of her children and grandchildren, whom she adored.
A woman of immense strength, Heather lovingly raised seven beautiful children, an achievement that was not just a testament to her resilience, but to her boundless, unconditional love. Heather was also, quite simply, the best babysitter; a title she earned by ensuring every moment was fun, joyful and safe. Heather loved a good time, whether it was enjoying the latest family gathering, sharing a lively conversation, or simply displaying her legendary sharp memory for every detail and story. Heather touched all whom she met, enriching lives with her warmth and wisdom. Heather’s greatest legacy is the powerful and loving community she created through her tireless devotion to her children and family.
Heather leaves to celebrate her life and mourn her passing, Her children Abrisha Brace (Edwin), Shakia McGough, Reqai McGough, Shanae’ McGough, LeKea Gailliard (Justin), Clifford Jackson Jr. (Joelis), and Christian McGough. Her dearly loved and cherished grandchildren Manuel “Manny” Perez, Jamell Modest III, Yianaliese Perez, Mateo Perez, Jayce Quinn, Qairo Villalongo, Jalina Jackson, Aaliyah Jackson; her husband Clifford Jackson, Sr.; her beloved siblings Bruce Farmer (Vanessa), Jeffery McGough (Debbie), Marcie McGough, Cheryl McGough (Antonio), Carla Carnegie, Pat McGough and Karen Winbush. God-sisters Wa’Kena Parsons-Jackson, Sanoma Parsons and Georgina Parsons. As well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Heather was preceded in death by her parents, Barbara Clowe-McGough, Charles McGough. Her sister Debbie-Sue McGough. Her brothers Kevin McGough, Rashaun McGough and nephew Nasheem Overton. Her God-parents Pastor Richard I. and Regina Parsons.
Heather Marie McGough will be deeply missed, but the delight and genuine love she brought to this world will never fade.
