Frank C. Cook of Albany, New York, a proud veteran of the United States Army, passed away December 15, 2023 while at the VA Medical Center in Albany, New York.
The son of late Carl E. Cook and Shirley Tillotson Cook. Frank grew up in Rotterdam, New York.
He was born June 23, 1948 in Schenectady, New York. He attended Schalmont High School.
At the age of 18 Frank enlisted in the United States Army.
He valued this service highly and attained the rank of Sergeant.
As part of his service Frank received the Army Commendation Medal while serving with the 4th Infantry Division in Vietnam.
He earned the award for meritorious service as a communications chief with Troop D, 2nd Squadron of the division’s 1st Cavalry.
Frank enjoyed fishing and playing with his grandkids.
He was predeceased by his parents Carl E. Cook and Shirley Tillotson Cook and brothers Paul Cook and David Cook.
Frank is survived by his beloved wife Robin. His sons Franklin (Trinity) Cook and Aaron Cook. His daughter Kimberly Ryan.
Grandchildren Franklin Cook Jr., Lana Cook, Michael-Ray Cook, Bethany Cook, Alexander Ryan and Isabella Ryan.
His brother Edson (Candice) Cook. His brother James (Victoria) Cook. His sister Katherine (Mark ) Rowny.
Several nieces and nephews.
A service honoring the life of Frank C. Cook will be held on
December 27, 2023 at 1:00- 2:30 at S.L. McLaughlin Funeral Home,
1226 Broadway, Albany, NY 12204.
Interment will be at the Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville, New York.
