Edward Louis Spivie peacefully passed away on June 2, 2025 at the young age of 69. Born March 1, 1956 in Brooklyn, NY, Edward was the oldest son of the late Lillian Spivie Hollis.
Edward, affectionately known as Eddie, accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at a very early age. He attended Evander Childs High School in Bronx, NY and later received his High School Equivalency Diploma. Eddie’s career in law enforcement and security expanded over forty years. He was a very hard worker. His dedication to his job was unwavering.
Eddie loved traveling and spending time with his family who he was very proud of and protective of. An avid New York sports fan, he loved the Giants and the Yankees. He would often display his team colors and logo in his clothing and other memorabilia. His cool style of dancing earned him the nick name “El Suave”.
Eddie was proceeded in death by his grandmother Elmira Jones, mother Lillian Spivie Hollis, niece Keisha M. Batten and great niece Nakyla S. Webb.
He leaves to cherish his memories his sisters Darlene Spivie and Linda Rogers-Johnson (Leroy); his brothers Eric Hollis (Mel), Maurice Hollis, Paul Hollis, and Victor Hollis; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
