Edith LaSharon "Dutchie" Joyner peacefully went to be with Jesus on January 10, 2021 at age 83 while surrounded by her loving family at home. LaSharon was born on April 21, 1937 in Fayette County, PA to her parents Bessie Welch and Lovell Keith. In 1959 she married Leslie Joyner and the two were inseparable from that point on. Leslie and LaSharon were married 63 years. Her husband Leslie is a Korean War Army Veteran and LaSharon is a veteran of the United States Air Force.
LaSharon lived a blessed life as a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, homemaker, gardener, and faithful servant of the Lord. In addition to raising their two sons Barry and Randy, LaSharon and Leslie opened their home to foster and adopt over 30 children. LaSharon is known to many simply as “mommy". She was a mother to the motherless.
LaSharon had a passion for bringing people to Christ and helping those in need. During herlifetime, LaSharon was an evangelist, pastor, and devout member of the church. For years, LaSharon had a successful prison ministry, where she spread the gospel to those affected by crime and incarceration. She led many outreach programs to feed and clothe people in the community. Countless people have been touched by her generosity.
LaSharon was predeceased by her parents, her brother Aschlen Keith, and her son Barry Lovell Joyner. She is survived by her dedicated husband Leslie Joyner, her children Randy and Sharetha Joyner, Kiyannah Joyner, Tierrah (Joyner) Blain and Elisha Blain, and innumerable others. She is also survived by her brother Donnie Keith and her grandchildren Aschelon,
Audrey, Barry, Briana, Kamryn, Leslie, Patrick, Randall, and many more.
