Donald L. Uzzell

Donald Lee Uzzell passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 23, 2021.

Donald affectionately known as “Donnie and DU” Donnie was born November 15, 1956 in Albany NY.  He is the son of Hiawatha Griffin and Claire Beattie-Uzzell.  He graduated from LaSalle High School in 1976 where he was known as an All-Star Basketball player. After graduating from LaSalle High School, Donnie served in the United States Army. While serving in the Army, he proposed to the love of his life.  On October 21, 1978 Donnie & Priscilla Turner were joined in marriage. While married, both Donnie and Priscilla were blessed with 3 children.

Donnie enjoyed life to the fullest.  He was very talkative and could always be heard because of his loud voice! Donnie was a sports fanatic and was known to pout when the NY Giants and NY Knicks lost.  Donnie was a risk taker and a gentle giant.

Donnie leaves to cherish in memory; his beloved wife Priscilla Uzzell.  2 children Elder Jermar Frazier (Tamara), Anarian Uzzell (Cindy). 6 Grandchildren, Janajah Frazier, Kajhonna Frazier, Lamont Uzzell Jr., Madison Frazier, Raegan Frazier, Antoine Uzzell. Mother, Claire Beattie-Uzzell, Father, Hiawatha Griffin, 3 Sisters, Shirley Everett (Stanley), Kelly Carnes, Patricia Griffin, 4 Brothers, Jeffery Headspeth (Cindy), Mark Headspeth, Howard Headspeth, Keith Carnes. 

2 Sister-in-laws, Min. Brenda Williams and Katonya Wall, 3 Brother-in-laws Willard Wakefield, Frank Turner Jr. and Allen Turner.  A host of Aunts, Uncles, Nieces and Nephews.  He is preceded in death his Son Lamont Donte Uzzell Sr., Sister, Lorene Lucy Headspeth, Sister-in-law Veronica Cookie Washington, Grandparents, Leon and Sylvia Uzzell. Father-in-law and Mother-in-law, Rev. Frank and Betty Turner.
