David Jones

David "Sporty D" Jones, 57, was called to glory on Sunday June 11, 2023, in Albany, NY.  He was born on February 17, 1966 in Albany, NY. David was a self-employed  salesperson who was known for his friendly and fun-loving personality.  He had a great sense of humor and would light up a room with his free spirit and library of funny Jokes. He also loved to dance and listen to music.  David was a graduate of Albany High School and also attended Schenectady Community College.

David is survived by his mother Eula Mae Jones, three brothers, Samuel Jones, Anthony Jones, Rasheed Jones, two sisters, Sharlene (Wolesey) Blackman, Debra Coleman-Curtis (Tennessee). Two sons, John Martinez (Georgia) and David Jones Jr. (Alabama). Two granddaughters, Noelle Martinez (Georgia) and Nyomi Martinez (Georgia). Three nephews, James Holly (Oregon), Malcom Jones (Massachusetts), Elijah Jones (Georgia), Erika Faoulks (Albany).  David was preceeded in death by his father, Samuel Jones Sr.

A Memorial Service will be held at S. L. McLaughlin Funeral Home, 1226 Broadway, Albany, NY 12204.  A repass will follow at North Albany American Legion Post 1610, 35 N. First Street, Albany, NY 12204.
