Dan Jones was born to the late Jim and Angie Lee Jones on July 30, 1935 in Shubuta, Mississippi. There were a total of 12 boys and 4 girls. In 1951, at a very young age, Dan left Mississippi and ventured to Ann Arbor, Michigan with his eldest sister, Edna. During this time, Dan learned many different crafts, and in 1953 in search of a better life, he relocated to Albany, New York where his dear sister, Nettie Mae, was already residing. Although Dan only acquired a meager formal education, he excelled in every aspect of his life. Dan will be remembered as a hard working man.
