Carlayjah M. Lumpkin

Carlayjah M Lumpkin was born on April 21,1997 to Tiffany Wright and Carl Lumpkin. Lay was born at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany,NY. Carlayjah was raised in Albany, NY with her siblings. She was the fourth eldest daughter of 9 children; 5 boys and 4 girls. Lay received her wings on Monday, March 2, 2020.
Lay attended Arbor Hill Elementary, Myers Middle School and Albany High School. Where she graduated and obtained her high school diploma.
Lay worked at The Boys and Girls Club . She was a dedicated worker and adored by the children she worked with just as she adored every one of them. Despite her disability, (SMA TYPE 2) she faithfully continued to press her way into work.
Lay loved life and lived it to the fullest. She was kind but would tell you about yourself in a heartbeat, loving, hilarious, and a fun person to be around; She was also a giver without question. She would give you her last if she needed to. Lay played a big role in her family, her extended family, and her friends lives. Lay was the biggest Drake & Nicki Minaj fan. She loved twix , blistex, money, sneakers, social media, reading, music, and she loved to explore the medicinal uses of certain plants. What she loved the most though was her twin sister Niesha. Lay beat the odds at a very young age. She proved all the doctors wrong. When her mother was told she wouldn’t live past the age 5. She was able to bless us with her presence for 22 years.
Lay is predeceased by her grandmother Barbara Wright, her grandfather Gary Wright Sr., and her great grandfather Arthur Lumpkin.
Lay leaves to cherish her memory her beloved mother Tiffany Wright ( Phoenix,AZ) ,biological father Carl Lumpkin ( Albany,NY), and father Stacey Hicks (Albany NY), her 9 siblings Corey Vance Jr.(Albany,NY), Alyssia Vance(Albany,NY), Messiah Lumpkin (Albany,NY), her Identical twin Carniesha Lumpkin ( Albany,NY),Shariff Hicks (Albany,NY), Nagi Hicks(Albany,NY), Anavie Hicks (Albany,NY), Jaiden Lumpkin (Albany,NY); Grandmothers Beverly Avery (Albany,NY), Shirley Lumpkin (Schenectady,NY); Great Grandmother Mother Lumpkin ( Albany,NY); Niece Nola Vance ( Albany NY) Nephew Rasi Nicholson (Albany,NY); Aunt’s: Daphne Lumpkin (Albany, NY) Lakisha Mcleod (Reggie), Sophia Avery (Albany,NY); Uncle’s: Shawn Hicks (Brooklyn,NY), Moe Hicks (who was also her Godfather) (Albany,NY), Gary Wright Jr.(Albany,NY) & Marlon Avery (Albany, NY) & Many Great Uncle’s & Great Aunt’s and a host of cousins and friends.
Lastly, the family would be remiss not to mention her favorite Aunt Joyce , Uncle Anthony, & Uncle
Harold Her Godson Messiah Franklin, Honorary Nephew Jordyn Elting; Her Honorary brother’s Kee, Eli, and Draino and ASAP and her Honorary sister Jazmine. Uncle Rob we all know that you were and always will be a HUGE part of Lay’s life, and heart, she loved you more then you will ever know!!
