Amargo Beatrice Clayton, 27, of Albany, NY, passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on Tuesday, February 20, 2024.
Amargo, affectionately nicknamed Margie by her caregivers, was born to D’Andrea Brooks and Errol Clayton on October 21, 1996, along with her twin sister, Ejaniia.
She received her formal education at the Kevin G. Langan School at the Center for Disabilities in Albany, NY. Margie was a popular young lady at school—being crowned prom queen of her senior class.
Amargo exemplified exceptional strength, perseverance and genuine love. A memorable moment when she showed off those qualities was when she gave her family and friends the pleasant surprise of walking across the stage during her graduation ceremony.
Amargo enjoyed life, spending time with her family, friends and caregivers. She loved outdoor walks, movie time and listening to music, especially when her Latin music was being played. She was also well known for her infectious smile, laughter, firm hand and soft heart! Anyone who took the time to get to know her can attest to just how unforgettable and lovely a human being she was.
Amargo was pre-deceased by her younger brother, Jacquez E. Clayton and her maternal grandparents, Josephine Dulaney and Willie Beard. She is survived by her parents, paternal grandmother, Margaret Cadogan (Bobby), twin sister, Ejaniia Clayton; sister, Mariah Clayton; brothers, Malachi A. Brooks, Justice A. Clayton, Nehemiah S. Terry and Malachi J. Fleming; two nieces: Malina J. Brooks and Aurelia I. Brooks; her roomies and sister-friends, Lulu and Marivette.
Her legacy of strength, perseverance and love will be remembered and felt for a long time to come.
Just a whole lot of beautiful magic, she was and will forever be.
