Alexander Crawford

Alexander H. Crawford, 39, of Troy, NY, passed away on July 2, 2023 at Samaritan Hospital, after succumbing to a gunshot wound sustained in protection of his son.

Alex was born on March 3, 1984, in Albany, NY to JoAnn Crawford (predeceased). JoAnn had 2 children prior to Alex, Vance and William Crawford. Unfortunately, JoAnn didn't raise any of her children. Alex was raised by Mary M. Jackson (predeceased) and later by Falita Friday (Tanner). He also was a resident at Northeast Parent and Child Society in Schenectady, NY and even did a small stint in the US Army. At 18, he took a wrong path with some friends which resulted in him spending 10 years in prison. When he was released, he was a changed man. He met his wife, Jessica Ramos (Troy, NY) and became the proud father to 4 children before having his first biological child, Alexis (7).

He loved every aspect of nature ... hiking, fishing, swimming, animals, you name it! Alex also had a love for music, so if he wasn't out in nature, he was in the studio. However, his greatest love was for his family. 

Alex is survived by his wife, Jessica, his 5 children, his 7 siblings, 8 nieces, 2 nephews, 1 great nephew, and Unc (iykyk). He is also survived by a host of cousins and friends.

Visitation, followed by services, will be held on Monday, July 10, 2023 at 4:00 p.m. at S.L. McLaughlin Funeral Home, located at 1226 Broadway, Albany, NY.
