Barbara J. Lundy

Barbar Lundy, lovingly known to her family as "Aunt Bobbie or Bobbie" was born in Salina, Kansas to the late Kathleen Washington.  At an early age she united into matrimony to the Late John H. Lundy.  They relocated to her husband's hometown Albany, NY in the late 50's.  

Barbara worked at the Albany County Nursing Home as a Nurse's Assistant for over 25 years and later worked for the Capital Region Foster Grandparents Program at area Day Care Centers.  She loved going to the Senior Services Day Program at Newgate until her health declined.  Barbara accepted Christ an an early age in her life and was a faithful member of the Bethany Baptist Church for over 50 years and served on the Retirement Group and was one of their founding members.  Her love for cars, clothes and shoes was was exhibited always with class!

Barbara was a life-long member of the International Masons and Order of Eastern Stars,  Chapter #144 Sister of Adah and was presented awards for her dedicated service.

Barbara will be remembered for her love for her family and always had her door opened to whatever neighborhood she lived.  Her words and advice "According to Barbara" will be forever sketched in our minds.

Barbara is predeceased by her loving Husband of 65 years.  She is the beloved Mother of Carl Lundy, Yvette Lundy and Vinita Meadows(Jeffrey).  Also survived by eight grandchildren: Rodney Wilson, Lamar Lundy, Sr., (Wilhelmenia), Antonio, Marco Gonzalez and Marcus Allen Pickett, Jeffrey Jr.  and Elijah Meadows; great-grandchildren:  NajaQueen and Jeffrey Meadows III, Janet Marie Sheffield, Lamar D. Lundy, Jr., Shaker Monet Roberts, Aaron Plesant, Tamara Lopez, LaNiece Wilson, Rahlonte' Wilson, Khalan Slade, Alonna Wilson;  Great-great grandchildren:  Juliana Rodriguez, Jasiya Williams, Jaasiyana Williams, Jayani Williams, Mason Blu Lundy, Cameron, Adriana, Aangelique, Marlena Gonzalez and Carter Wilson.  Her siblings: Ver Lee (Grand Rapids, MI), Treba and Gary Washington, Erwin Lax (Jacksonville, FL); and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.  Barbara is predeceased by her son John Lundy, Jr., Janet and Janell Lundy; siblings: Kathleen, Jacob, Joe, Anna, Joanne and Richard.
